Nice words aren’t they? But, what the heck do they mean and what does it really look like to have diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging? What must happen in our collective minds, hearts, bodies, and souls to make this paradigm shift?

I’ve been using the DEIB acronym in my work for some time. It seems to have become the new buzzword. This has given me pause to stop and think about where it originated and what it actually means to me. I believe that it is my responsibility as an antiracist white person to always be cognizant of interrogating the terms and language I’m using to be sure they are actually anti-racist and take responsibility for my own learning and education.
